On Tuesday 8th October meetings of Cheveley Parish Council and Cheveley Pavilion & Recreation Ground Charity were held in the Garden Room at Cheveley Parish Hall. Five Councillors were present together with District and County Councillor Alan Sharp and one member of the public.
At the meeting of Cheveley Pavilion & Recreation Ground Charity the trustees discussed proposed security improvements for the recreation ground. It was agreed that a new security barrier and gate would be installed. A new native hedge will also be planted around the perimeter of the car park.
It was noted that the work to repair the recreation ground wall was now complete for 2024. More work will be carried out in the next financial year.
At the Parish Council meeting it was noted that the external audit is complete for 2023/24.
It was also noted that the balance of the PWLB loan for the parish hall has been settled.
It was agreed to donate £150 to St Mary’s Church for a Christmas tree.
The council reviewed the outcome from the recent road safety survey. This data will be used to build a five-year plan for future funding bids.
The council has agreed to move a dog bin to a better location on Centre Drive. They have also agreed to buy new batteries for the interactive speed signs.
It was noted that the metal gate at the hall had been refurbished. The council thanked Cllr Jackson for organising this work.
The council approved a quote to replace the heating controller for the hall.
The list of keyholders was reviewed to ensure only regular users have independent access to the council’s amenities.
